Exciting News

Today I received an email from Jillian at Catch My Party that Sully's Wild Rumpus is going to be featured as one of their parties of the day!!!  Catch My Party is a great website for anyone that loves to plan parties or just needs a little inspiration.  That definitely made my day.  I emailed the link to all of my friends and family.  Some of the ladies that my mom works with want me to brainstorm ideas for the children's birthday parties.  I love being creative and coming up with new ideas.

Mr. O and I had been getting into an eating out habit.  Mr. O works in the restaurant industry and we only have Tuesday night to have dinner together.  We have been eating out or picking up take out for a couple of weeks, and I decided that it needed to stop.  I made Iowa Girl Eats Thai Peanut Noodles, and it was delicious!!!!

Mr. O even quoted he would eat that every week! Some modifications I made were I doubled the chicken and axed the tofu, axed the coleslaw mix, and substituted frozen broccoli for the edamame.  Next time I will add two eggs, I like a bit more egg in my Thai noodle dishes.   That is the great thing about this dish is that you can modify based
on what protein or veggies you have on hand.  It feels great to get back on track with this recipe.

Next week I hope that I will have another fabulous dinner to post about.

Meant to Be

The other day my husband told me that he would watch Sully and I could have some personal time.  Well actually I had been bugging him about it.  I just wanted an hour or two where I wasn't running down the mommy list in my head...diapers, wipes, sippy cup, paci, snack.....So off to Target I went.  While browsing the clearance racks I almost stopped in my tracks when I spotted this beauty.

I about died!!! Of course I scooped it up and the $6 price made it that much sweeter!!

Sully turns ONE!

Little man turned one on March 14th, and we had a wild rumpus to celebrate Here are some pictures from the party.  I picked a theme and started planning months in advance.  I had a mini dessert table, cucpakes, and bbq.  For activities we had an arts and crafts table where the kiddos decorated gold crowns, pin the tail on Max, and a pinata.  Everyone had a great time!!  The crafts and spray paint started to drive my husband a little nuts, but in the end he said I did an excellent job.

Spray painted wine bottles and tissue poms for the centerpieces.  I used this tutorial from Ruffled Blog.  The only problem I had it was a little chilly and windy when I was spray painting. At first I only did chocolate brown, but my husband suggested I do some grey and it turned out great!

Pin the tail on Max. I copied the image from a Wild Things party on Party Perfect.

Intro!

Hi All!  My husband started a blog about a month ago and I've decided to jump on the bandwagon.  I'm Mrs. O and this is about my adventures in mommyhood.  I make it through the days with many diet cokes.  I have been married three years and have a beautiftul one year old son.  Join me along for the ride!
